The inaugral Lewis J Shobbrook Medal game was played on April 29th 2017.
The Shobbrook family heartfully congratulate Garrett Chan of MCC, a most worthy winner.
Lewis J Shobbrook was one of the earliest members of the Surrey Park Lacrosse Club, starting his lengthy Lacrosse career with the U14 side in 1948.
Two years later he began playing for the senior side, as a lefty on the midfield before finishing as Goalie in the ealry 70's.
He came out of retirement in 1980 aged 42 to play in goals for then Mitcham C grade side, where he was joined by his eldest son Rhys (who was playing U16's for Mitcham too) and for a couple of games with his youngest son Lewis then playing for Mitcham under 12's.
Lewis J Shobbrook passed away on May 10, 2017 less than two weeks after the inaugral medal match.
